If the IP continues to resolve incorrectly with the ping command, there is a name resolution issue on their network. Occasionally we run into multiple IP addresses entered which can cause it to get the right one sometimes and the wrong one sometimes. Additionally if the ping by name resolves to the right IP have the teacher reach out to their IT staff and verify that there is only one IP entered for student in DNS. Try to ping by name to see if the ping also resolves it incorrectly.
